Development of a motor driver for a watch washing machine ⌚

A customer from a prestigious watchmaking company sought to develop a custom washing machine for cleaning watch parts, including gears, knobs, and screws in dedicated oil baths.

The machine features a 150W Maxon DC motor whose rotation speed is controlled using a large rotary encoder. A small LCD screen displays the current motor speed and a timer.

Users can program speed profiles over time, allowing the motor to follow specific sequences of rotational speeds based on preset time intervals.

The client handled the chassis and the mechanical components of the machine, while Biodiance was responsible for designing, ordering the PCB, assembling and testing the electronics.

The project was executed according to schedule and was completed within approximately one month.
